For many years, starting a year after Charlie's leukemia diagnosis, my family participated in the annual Heel to Heal walk to raise money for Embrace Kids. In 2019, after 25 years of fundraising, walking, and hosting "after parties" at our house, we hung up our red shirts.

This year, the Foundation's 35th year, we were invited to jump back in to the Heel to Heal. Although we were unable to make it to the walk, we set out to collect donations with a goal of $3,500. Can you spare a few bucks for this wonderful organization, which helps many kids and their families during what is likely the most difficult time of their lives?

Embrace Kids Foundation was founded in 1991 and is located in New Brunswick, NJ. The Foundation assists families whose children have cancer, sickle cell and other blood disorders in the NJ/NYC metropolitan area. All programs and services are free to families and include emergency financial assistance, individualized tutoring, counseling, and inspirational events and holiday parties.
